What is Nitronox? Nitronox is a proven safe and effective treatment for managing pain and anxiety during various medical and aesthetic procedures. The Nitronox system delivers a fixed mixture of 50% Nitrous oxide and 50% Oxygen directly to you on demand, providing control and distraction through self-administration. How does it work? The gas mixture is inhaled through a mask for about 30 seconds before the procedure begins and is self-administered by the patient, so you can breathe it in as you feel necessary. It assists with pain relief and anxiety during gynecologic procedures, and helps you relax and manage your pain. |

What is it used for?
Nitronox is ideal for short minimally-invasive procedures such as:
- PAP smears
- IUD insertion
- Colposcopy
- Hysteroscopy
- Novasure ablation
Is it safe?
Nitrous oxide, often called "Laughing Gas", has been a common practice in dental offices to help cope with pain for many years. It is cleared from the body through the lungs, so as soon as you pull the mask away, the nitrous oxide effect starts to fade. Within a few minutes, it will leave your system , making you able to drive after your procedure.
Your safety is our primary concern. Our procedure room is equipped with a gas scavenger system to take away any excess nitrous oxide that is exhaled to keep all our patients safe.
