Check-in & what to bring
We keep paperwork simple. Most patients can handle everything the day before — no clipboard in the waiting room required.
Electronic check-in
The day before your appointment you'll receive a text message with a secure link to complete and sign your intake forms online — no printing, no pen. You can also access and complete forms anytime through your MyChart patient portal.

Accepted insurance plans
We participate with most major carriers and will file claims as a courtesy. Please confirm coverage with your insurer before your visit — amounts not covered remain the patient's responsibility.
Payment — by cash, check, or card — is collected at time of service for copays and any services not covered by your plan. If you have questions about your benefits or out-of-pocket costs, please contact your insurer directly before your appointment. Our staff is also happy to help clarify what we'll file on your behalf — call us at 401-223-2828.
Policies & how we communicate
A few things to know so your care runs smoothly — from how to reach us after hours to how we handle refills.
Emergencies & after-hours care
The practice provides 24-hour, 7-day on-call coverage. If you have an urgent concern — including active labor — call the office at 401-223-2828 and select the option for the on-call doctor. For life-threatening emergencies, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
Routine questions and non-urgent matters are best sent through MyChart secure messaging. Messages are reviewed and answered within one business day.
Cancellations & late arrivals
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Missed appointments without adequate notice may incur a missed-appointment fee, as outlined in our No-Show Policy.
If you arrive 10 or more minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled to protect the care of patients waiting after you. Please call ahead if you're running behind — we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Communicating with your provider
The preferred way to send non-urgent messages is through MyChart secure messaging, which is reviewed within one business day. You may also leave a voicemail for your provider's medical assistant.
If you are experiencing a new issue or have something specific to discuss with your provider, scheduling an appointment is the most thorough and appropriate way to address it — phone conversations and messages have limitations that an in-person visit does not.
Medication refills
Please allow up to 3 business days for a refill request to be processed. For mail-order prescriptions, contact us at least 14 days in advance to avoid running out.
Refills are only available during regular business hours — they are not processed on weekends or holidays. We can only refill medications that were originally prescribed by this practice. Prior authorizations required by your insurance plan will be handled in coordination with your pharmacy.
Keeping your scheduled appointments is important for continued refills. Medications that require regular monitoring or follow-up may not be refilled without an up-to-date visit on file.
